Stop Working Out and Effortlessly Lose Weight by Having Fun

If you are struggling with consistently working out, I have an idea for you. Stop working out and start having fun. Stop wondering how many calories you are burning, stop trying to figure out what muscle group you are working.

Forget about doing strength training or cardio and simply start having volleyball drills with activities that involve moving your body. Getting in shape is not about how miserable you can make yourself because getting healthy and fit should really be fun.

My friends Sarah and John are great examples. Sarah volleyball drills over 40 pounds after her having her baby just by dancing. She ditched working out at the gym and just spent hours on the dance floor. John loves music and listens to his iPod while riding his bike to work. It takes him 45 minutes each way and he loves it. John has come a long way from his overweight couch potato days his lean body is proof that riding his bike regularly is getting him in great shape. Both Sarah and John are working out without even knowing it and they are not the only ones. There are countless others without gym memberships who are in fantastic shape and are loving life.

It's time to look at fitness differently and step outside the box because there are so many ways to keep fit by doing activities that you enjoy. Here are 2 simple ideas.

1 Start Playing Sports
The definition of sports does not have the word young or youth. Playing sports is not just for kids; adults can play, have fun and make friends in the process. Search for adult teams such as basketball, soccer and volleyball leagues in your area for people in your age group. If you can't find one, be a pioneer and start one. You could also play individual sports such as badminton, tennis, racquetball or squash. Another alternative are sports that don't require a partner such as golf. I recall meeting a man in his early 50's who lost 20 pounds over 2 months just by regularly playing golf and instead of using a riding cart he choose to walk the golf course.

2 Embracing The Great Outdoors.
A lot of people spend lots of money every year getting away on vacation to do activities that you can probably do right in your backyard for almost next to nothing. Every state has a parks and recreation department that provides a place of its residents to get outside and have some fun and I bet you don't have to travel very far to find one. Here you can do activities such as hiking, mountain biking, canoeing, water skiing, climbing, rafting etc

Stop struggling with trying to workout because you have a world of options. The question you need to ask yourself is what could you do to move your body and have fun in the process? You might find yourself thinking about how you've always wanted to learn ballroom dancing or learn martial arts. When you develop interest in something it can soon lead to a passion. The point is you don't need a gym membership to get some exercise because the world is your playground. Now go use it!
