Lady-boys in Phuket, Thailand

If you come to Phuket, your itinerary will surely include the famous side shows by those Katoey's volleyball drills lady-boys. Be ready for a rich sensory experience and a time of enjoyment as they go all out to please the weary customers and patrons or tourists. It is not just about making a living, it is about a way of life. It is not a sleazy existence but a means of maintaining a lifestyle as a lady-boy they would not be able to in their own native village. They wear very revealing dresses showing their ample silicone emphasized breasts while they sing and dance in their performances. Their perfect measurements and their beauty makes them the envy of many real women.

The men and the women watch transfixed as they go about their routines. In Malaysia, they are known as Maknyah's or the derogatory term 'pondan' or 'she-males' in the West.

It is sometimes difficult to discern who is real or who isn't. Some of them are indeed beautiful. I believe God in his immense mercy is giving them a chance to live a life they should have been given since birth. They are obviously more ladies than men. Transsexuals or trans-gender are those who think they are a woman born in a man's body, while a transvestite is a man who likes to dress up like a woman.

In Thailand, being a lady-boy is less derogatory for example than in the west. They are accepted by society as the third sex and are not openly discriminated against. Many Thais have a slight stature, sport smaller bodies like a woman and quite hairless. Boobs are easier to fix but a sex change operation is more complicated, and expensive. My heart really goes out for them as they undergo it to reach their quest of being a real woman. Injection of female Hormones are also part of the routine they have to undergo.

One of the country's most famous lady-boys is Nong Toom, who went from champion Thai kick boxer to being a transsexual. A movie, Saitree Lex, was made about the true story of a lady-boy volleyball team known as the 'Iron Ladies' won the national championships in 1996 against the odds.

Exercises To Increase Vertical Leap

There are several ways to increase vertical jump. At your training you will have to look for two things, to strengthen your legs and strengthen their fast-twitch muscle fibers which are essential for vertical jump and that will add few centimeters to your vertical jump. Increasing vertical leap will help you at sports like basketball (for better rebounding), volleyball (at hitting and blocking), soccer (being able to score with your head), handball, American football, rugby and others.

Power is one of the most important thing when jumping high. Physics say that power equals A/t, A being the work and t time but in sports power is better described as strength multiplied by speed and that is why training fast-twitch muscle is very important.

Every workout should be started with warming up and extensive leg stretches which is very important when building muscle fibers and will prevent injuries. The best way to continue is with jump rope which will higher your pulse which will help you with the final results. As I said before speed is important that is why you should go out and make few sprints and than continue with stairs. I recommend you the local stadion which usually has a lot of stars. Important thing is to run the stars with your toes than walk down and repeat the exercise on every second stair. The thing you should do next are the jumps. Start with jumping from the box and immediately back on to the box. Do 3 sets of 10 repetitions. Continue with jumps where your legs are bent (3/4) and try to jump as high as possible land and repeat... Do 3 sets of ten repetitions and continue with jumping fast and not as high as before. Jump as soon as your toes hit the ground. The best thing is to find a target backboard or rim on the basketball court is a great target try to touch it 10times in a row and repeat it 3 times.

After you are done run for a mile and than stretch again. Complete the program every 3rd day and results will be seen in weeks.

Girls Volleyball Pepper Drill Variations

It is nearly impossible to make it through a season of girls volleyball without engaging in at least one session Pepper, since it's a simple drill that covers all the basic skills of the game. Many girls volleyball teams like to use Pepper as a warm-up drill before a game.

In its most basic incarnation, the girls volleyball Pepper drill is performed in pairs. The players stand facing each other anywhere from 5-20 feet apart, depending on their skill level and ball control. At the beginning of the drill, player 2 has the ball.

At the sound of the coach's whistle, player 2 tosses the ball to player 1, who passes it back to player 2. Player 2 then sets the ball to player 1, who spikes it back to player 2. Player 2 now must dig for the spiked ball, which player 1 sets back to player 2. Player 2 now spikes the ball for player 1, who digs for it and starts the drill over again.

Each player performs one pass, one set, and one spike per rotation of the drill. Repeat in 2-5 minute sessions, allowing at least 30 seconds of rest between each session.

One of the best aspects of the Pepper drill is that it can be adapted to keep the players from getting too comfortable with the series of movement. Here are some variations on the Pepper drill to keep the girls on their toes.

Six-Touch Variation

This drill is also performed in pairs, with one ball between the two players. To begin, player 2 tosses a down ball to player 1. Player 1 performs a series of six touches on the ball before sending it back to her partner.

First, player 1 digs the ball to herself, tomahawk's the ball to herself, hits the ball with her left fist, then the right fist, then sets the ball up to herself, then finally hits a down ball back towards her partner. Player 2 repeats the movements in the same order.

Once the girls have gotten comfortable with the order, try performing this drill on the court so that players have to hit the down balls over the net to their partners.

Cross Court Variation

For this Pepper variation, players stand diagonally from each other on opposite sides of the net. Player 2 sends a down ball over to Player 1 who digs the ball up to herself, sets it to herself and sends a down ball over the net and across to her partner. Player 2 repeats the series of actions before sending the ball back to player 1.

Once the team has become comfortable with the drill, have everyone take a few giant steps backwards and repeat.

4 x 2 Variation

This Pepper variation requires you to split your girls volleyball team into groups of four. To begin, two players stand on either side of the net. Player 2 sends a down ball over the net. Player 1 digs the ball to her partner who sets the ball upwards for Player 1 to hit a down ball diagonally over the net back towards player 2.

UCLA History

UCLA is actually the acronym of the University of California, Los Angeles. This institution, which was founded in 1881, was originally referred to as the California State Normal School's Los Angeles branch. However, the name was changed to the Southern Branch of the University of California in 1919 when it was given a university status. In 1927, the institution changed its name to University of California, Los Angeles. It is considered as one of the oldest general-purpose institutions in the system of the University of California.

The sports teams of the University of California, Los Angeles are actually called the Bruins. Two of the important sports competitions where the UCLA Bruins participate in are the Pacific Ten Conference and the NCAA Division I-A. The home venue of the Bruins Football team is the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. Meanwhile, Pauley Pavilion, which is located right at the campus of the university, is the home venue for the basketball, the volleyball, as well as the women's gymnastic teams.

The first mascot of the University of California, Los Angeles is called Rags, a little fuzzy dog found by the school's gardener in 1918 in the lawn of the campus. However, UCLA adopted a cub as its mascot when Berkeley got the golden bear. In 1920, after winning several football games, the university adopted a grizzly bear as its new mascot. But when UCLA joined the Pacific Coast Conference, they had to change their mascot again since the University of Montana is already known as the Grizzlies. Since Berkeley was known as both the Bear and the Bruins, the Los Angeles branch of the University of California just decided to use the name Bruins. So in 1928, a few days after the student council approved the new mascot name, the school organ changed its name from Cub Californian to the Daily Bruin. It is also important for the Bruins fans to know that these mascots were real live bears during the early years. Nevertheless, even if the bears were trained, many believed that they were not safe around many fans and spectators, thus in the 1960s, the university decided to simply use student mascots. During the 1967 football games, Joe Bruin was joined by Josephine Bruin, the first woman mascot. Up to the present, you will see both Joe and Josephine Bruin sashaying, dancing, and jumping their hearts out during sports events where the school is involved.

Aside from the mascots, the other important school tradition is the UCLA colors and fight songs. Just like in other schools, the colors of the university have undergone a number of changes. However in 2004, the university Chancellor has decided to make the sun gold and deep sky blue as the exact hues that will represent the school. Furthermore, black, white, or blue can be used for the logo of the University of California, Los Angeles, while gold should only be used as an accent color. Meanwhile, the popular fight songs of the Bruins are the Mighty Bruins and Sons of Westwood.

Vibrational Healing - How Water, Sea Salts, and Colloidal Silver Can Heal Most Anything, Part One

Within this life experience, I have been gifted with the infinite gifts of illnesses, diseases and syndromes that conventional medicine has diagnosed the physical body of which my soul resides in with. These have included: A heart murmur at birth, continuous strep throat infections (which resulted in the tonsils being removed in one of the NTHE, Near Transitional Home Experiences that I experienced), mononucleosis as a teenager, asthma (with an attack so severe I experienced another NTHE while pregnant with our second son Matthew due to lack of oxygen), bronchitis, allergies to what the physical body was classified with as being allergic to everything under the sun also resulting in nasal and sinus issues and the having of the nose cauterized, two knee surgeries on the right knee, one tubal pregnancy (right tube) and three other miscarriages, PID (pelvic inflammatory disease), fibrocystic breasts, a ruptured ovarian cyst. endometriosis, kidney stones (with 2 lithotripsys for this), continuous kidney and bladder infections, liver and gallbladder issues with gallstones having the gallbladder removed in September 2005 during which I experienced another NTHE, and being diagnosed by conventional medicine with lupus both forms with the rashes and attacks of the major organs and so on (which conventional medicine says is the cumulative diagnosis for all of these illnesses, diseases, and syndromes that they originally diagnosed the physical body with) and a rare blood disorder in which the physical body clots on the inside (which conventional medicine tells me that is what they believe causes the endometriosis) and bleeds profusely on the outside when the body receives a cut (thus two being as one), both of which are fatal they say. In addition in this life, the physical body of which my soul resides in has experienced two herniated discs in the back, carpal tunnel in the arms and hands, numerous severe ankle sprains, a benign breast cyst, a bone spur on the bottom of the left heal, an injury to the head by a golf club, and a severely sprained right wrist from playing volleyball.

In total, I have died ten times thus far in this life experience. Nine of those have occurred through various surgeries, medical procedures, and a severe asthma attack. Each physical body surgery procedure I have experienced has induced some form of what is known on this earth dimension as flat lining or physical body death. I have come to see these transformations for the gifts that they are. I know that I have chosen each of these events to impart infinite spiritual messages of soul rememberings of who I am choosing to be within each moment while here playing this game called LIFE (living infinitely from experience). I am the soul I am in this moment because of these life experiences. These transformative life experiences have brought me to learnings and soul rememberings that have brought me to a place of peace and learnings through research and degree studies. So this wisdom that I share comes both from personal physical and spiritual experience and research.

As these learnings and rememberings are all one, I have come to remember, embrace, and treasure the infinite paths that bring us into peace here on this earth. I have embraced the studies of the shamanic path in its connection to our spiritual path through several spiritual mentors. I have collaborated with other mentors and within what are considered here on this earth dimension as a self-learner, to learn of vibrational healing medicine, of aromatherapy, of herbology, and a plethora of soul rememberings and earth dimensional learning modalities. It was while studying for the masters degree in vibrational medicine and the learning about herbology that I was gifted with the amazing wisdom that is written.

The Physical Body Basis for Diseases, Illnesses, Syndromes, and Disorders

There are several physical reasons for diseases, illnesses, syndromes, and disorders. One of them relates to food and water. The physical body and spiritual soul can if we so choose, live on our respiration, our breath. The other component that the spiritual soul and physical body can choose to live on is that of water. These two items together (two being as one) along with sea salts, is what can sustain us within this life experience if we choose. The physical body is made of 90% water. Water is a natural antihistamine and natural diuretic. Why do we need to replace fluids excreted from the body by drinking plenty of water? This is because approximately three pints of water per earth dimensional day are excreted through the kidneys, approximately one pint of water per earth dimensional day is excreted through the skin in perspiration, and another yet another pint is expelled through respiration. As such, the organs, everything within the physical is water or has a component of water within it. Also, spiritually speaking our spirits, our souls are made of a crystalline like substance that is water.

Respiration and water are in infinite supply and are always, in all ways, with us and within us. The molecules and atoms of everything and anything are components of water and air. I invite you to place our hands and move them slowly in a fluidity of motion around the air in the room. As we do this physical motion, we are moving through molecules of water and air. Utilizing our breath and the water that surrounds us is about absorbing nutrients from the air the physical body breathes and the molecules of water absorbed through the fluidity of our movements as physical human forms. Nutrients we absorb from the air and water through the skin, the eyes, the hair all have the ability to nourish and center the physical body of which our soul resides within. As a physical being we incarnate with and within air and water.

The utilizing of the breath of LIFE (living infinitely from experience) and of water, two being as one, is accomplished through a rewiring of the physical biochemistry, the rewiring of the thoughtenergy axioms that we all choose to illusionarily hold onto as so to be free from every questioning, free from ever exploring any other of the infinite possibilities. As physical beings, we consist of air and water. Imagine the physical body as a plant. Plants absorb moisture and nutrients from sunlight, air, and water. To rewire the physical body to be as a plant, we are invited to shift the axioms of who we believe we are to the inner wisdom that water and the air we breathe can sustain us. Within coming into a resonance of living off of our breath and of water comes with the physical praxis that we are until we believe, see, feel, and be that we are. As with anything that the human physical form chooses to be habitual form with, it takes the illusion of earth dimensional time for the physical body brain to resonate within a shifting paradigm, because as physical human forms we use praxis to shift the physical body into resonance with that the soul already knows we ARE - a revolving experience of. If we are to be within choosing to live from breath and water, then we are invited to choose to slowly reduce the amount of food we choose to eat as we feel intuitively ready to, while being in praxis of the thoughtenergy within our thoughts, within our living that the air we breath and the water we drink is infinitely enough to sustain our life and that we are infinitely full from the nutrients we take in from the air we breathe and the water we drink. That anything, everything, and all we ever need to sustain us is within these things.

This is something that I am in current praxis (or practice) with and discovering that I am eating what is called within earth dimensional amounts is less and less food. This is why when we come closer to the shifting from the physical body into spiritual soul being (or dying as we call it) that we tend to eat less food and rely upon the air we breathe and the water we drink to sustain the physical body that the soul resides in. The air in our respiration, bringing us in a constant resonance of being in spirit and being connected to, for, of, and with and the water that we drink and absorb within all that surround us, then is our food.

Resonance With All That We Drink and Eat

Until such a moment as we choose this path of water and the breath of Life as One to be an infinite possibility, we can choose to sustain the physical body within the combination of food and water. The media and conventional medicine doctors are always saying drink water. There is something to this and here is why. Many of us are unconscious to that the physical body is in a constant state of dehydration. This is why we see the illusions of what we call here as being overweight, illnesses such as Asthma, sinus issues, ADD (as a person who is gifted with the earth name of ADD or ADHD are within a resonance of an alternative dimensional download and of alternative dimensional heartbeat download, as in these souls dial into the heartbeat of the universe of infinite dimensions, infinite universes, and infinite parallel universes, including this earth dimension to bring forth and gift us with the infinite wisdom of the universe), cancer, and the plethora of names for diseases, illnesses, disorders, and syndromes. Suffering occurs and is associated with dehydration of the physical body.

This is also too why we age so rapidly and produce within the body of age-related diseases such as: osteoarthritis, wrinkles, high blood pressure, and infinitely other what we call as age-related diseases. These are free from being age-related as they are really dehydration-related manifestations. We can live to be quite an old age and be free from diseases if we are to drink an infinite supply of what the physical body is asking for in water and take in sea salts. Thereby, this is what is known here on this earth dimension as the secret fountain of youth. The fountain of youth is free from being discovered within this earth dimensions ideas of a bottle of age defying makeup or some diet or pills, but through a way of being that we all have been looking for. The ego self of the soul believes that the fountain of youth as something to be discovered, and is to be discovered out there, that we must search for it. However, we are free from having to search for it or having to discover it out there as it is already and always, always ready and in all ways, with us and within us. This is why we see souls on this earth appear to be ageless or living within the physical body for many earth dimensional years, as these souls have embraced the fountain of youth in that although this earths concept of time seems to move fast or at the same pace, these souls experience a slowing of movement as they have stepped into spiritual oneness multi dimensionality and because of the water, sea salts, and shifting of who they are to bring about peace, absoulute love, and bliss within their lives.

Now I say this free from the idea that we are in this physical body is going to live forever, or that we will in our older years be free from the concept known as pain; as clearly these things are possible for the machine called physical body may at some moment be physically worn and this is when we will transform like that of a butterfly. However, we can prosper within vitality and Infinite Well BEing as the physical body earth dimensionally ages, simply from drinking of the source of that of which we are water.

The reason for this occurring is that, during the process of dehydration, the physical body takes what is known as desperate measures to conserve water. Part of dehydration also involves the release of histamine which is critical to activate and maintain other systems of the physical body which are designed to save body water. These systems keep water in the body even if the body is free from any presence of water that we have yet to ingest. If the body is free from receiving water being ingested by us physically, it will then utilize the water that is within the organs and systems of the body to keep itself replenished. The body will seek to drawn from any stored up urine and feces that has yet to be expelled initially and then the body will continue by obtaining water for hydration from the liver, gallbladder, heart, and any other organ it can extract water from to ensure the physical bodys survival. As water is being depleted and excreted through when we urinate and defecate, if we continue to replace these fluids with something other than water, a state of continuous dehydration in the physical body occurs. This is the cause then of what we call as symptoms associated with what are known on this earth dimension as diseases, illnesses, disorders, and syndromes.

The amount of water we drink in relation to the food that we eat that creates the physical manifestation of what we call a clogged physical body system. Water flushes out the food we eat and is cleansing the physical body in an infinite cyclical process. Up to fifty percent of the water that we drink each earth dimension day is needed is due the digestion of and processing of food we are eating. Thus if we are drinking this earth dimensions amount of more juice, coffee, soda and so on than water and/or eating more than the body has of water within it, the physical body is then in a resonance of chronic dehydration. If a soul chooses to be free from eating or eats small amounts of food daily living off of water, sunlight, spiritual light, and air, then less water may be needed as one is free from needing as much water for physical digestion.

The reason that on this earth dimension we call the food and drink we absorb as toxins within the physical body is simply that believe they are toxins or toxic. For as much as many souls, including conventional medicine, are in axiom with that food and drink themselves are toxic or are toxins, the food and drink we take within us is free from being toxic themselves, it is simply that because when we incarnate we come into this earth with water, air, and spiritual light as our sources of nourishment as this is who we are. When we are physically born in this manner this is what the pure essence is of who we are as a soul in physical form. We receive nourishment through our mothers womb which consists of water that is extracted from within our mothers physical body as the water from within the physical body when it is completely hydrated sustains the babys physical body and soul. If a mother is free from being completely hydrated, the baby will use water from other sources in the mothers physical body, as well as, what is extracted from the food and drink the mother ingests, to nourish itself. This is why when a mother soul is pregnant, we believe that she requires more food to feed the growing life inside her during gestation, when it is really water and that of sea salts that the physical body is asking the mother to drink to sustain the child and the possible water and oxygen within the food that she eats to be extracted to sustain the child. Therefore, it is the water and the oxygen that the baby needs rather than the substance of the food itself. For the mother morning sickness is the very first sign of dehydration in the mother and the baby, brought about by the water regulatory action of histamine.

Thus, when we take within the physical being that which is something other than what we emanate from, that being of water, air, and spiritual light, it is the left over remnants after excreting this water, air, and spiritual light from this left over remnant matter of what we call here on this earth as food, that is the perceived toxins of which is to be flushed out. Therefore, the food itself if free from being good or bad, right or wrong, healthy or unhealthy, good for you or bad for you, toxic or nontoxic. It is simply remnants to be flushed out once the physical body has extracted all it chooses to for nourishment.

Since the physical body is comprised of ninety percent water, then this is what the physical body is inviting of us to drink to sustain it. Conventional medicine says that eight to ten, 8 ounce glasses of water is what will assist the fluidity of the physical body to sustain itself. If we are physically active this can be more. By drinking half of the physical bodys weight of water in ounces each earth dimension day is really what the physical body is asking us for to keep it adequately hydrated. An example of this would be if we weigh 150 pounds then 150 lbs would equal 75 ozs. of water daily. Divide that into 8 oz. glasses and this then is how many glasses we are being invited by the physical body to drink, daily. In addition to this daily amount of water to keep the physical body hydrated, then add double the amount of water for every 8 oz. glass that we choose to drink of juice, coffee, soda, tea etc. An example of this would be if we drink an 8 oz. can of soda, then we would drink 16 ozs. of water, in addition to the daily water intake for the physical bodys hydration of half the amount of the physical bodys weight, to adequately flush the food out of the physical body and also hydrate the body in the process. If eating food, add double the water for every ounce of food consumed, in addition to the daily water intake for the physical bodys hydration of half the amount of the physical bodys weight, to adequately flush the food out of the physical body and also hydrate the body in the process. An example of this would be if we choose to eat a 12 oz steak, then we would need 24 ozs. of water to adequately flush the food out of the physical body and also hydrate the body in the process. It can then take up to thirty-two ounces of water to completely flush out of the physical body that eight ounces of soda, juice, coffee, other sugary drink, or food eaten.

Within water being our primary source of replenishment, if we choosing to drink juice, soda or other sugary drinks that are comprised more of sugar than of water, we are then physically depriving the physical body that our soul resides within a basic component for its physical survival. I know for me personally, when what conventional medicine calls a headache is within the physical body that my soul resides in, to me that is a signal that I am being invited to drink water and breath in deeply. Upon doing so the conventional medicine name called a headache is free from being. This is because I take a moment to be in tuned with the physical body to know that it was inviting me to drink water and breathe deeply as this is the message that came through upon going within. To be continued in part two.

Choosing the Best Kids Summer Camps

Beside all the organized sports our children are attending throughout the year, summer time provides great opportunities for kids to attend a summer camp and learn new skills or make new friends. In fact, it's been proven so many times that by keeping kids active and interested in sports or arts, they will stay out of trouble and away from bad influences.

But with all the choices out there it can be difficult to find the right kids summer camps. This article will concentrate on providing some guidelines on the numerous factors to consider when choosing the best camp for your child.

WHOSE DECISION IS IT?

If you want your child to attend the worst summer camp, send him or her to a camp without involving them in the decision. Otherwise, make sure to sit down together and talk about what really interests him, what does he love about a particular activity and what does he want to gain from the camp experience. Regardless of the age of your child remember to include him in the decision. Looking through brochures and sharing some favourite summer camp stories with your child is a great way to build his excitement.

WHAT PROGRAM

Once you have determined your child interests decide if it's best that he attends a traditional or a specialized camp. Traditional Summer Camps are more appropriate for children who love to do many different types of activities such as outdoor recreation, arts and crafts, individual and team activities, and more. Specialized Summer Camps focus on one activity and are more appropriate for children that are motivated towards one specific activity. The most common kids camps and activities are:

Adventure Camps: hiking, rock climbing, backpacking, rope courses, rafting, outdoor cooking, and fishing.
Watersports Camps: swimming, canoeing, kayaking, scuba diving, snorkelling, waterskiing, windsurfing, volleyball.
Individual or Team Sports Camps: soccer, baseball, football, basketball, hockey, horseback riding, gymnastics, martial arts, tennis, fishing, golf.
Arts Camps: acting, directing, writing, photography, choreography, dance, music, circus, paining.
Science Camps: nature, geology, astronomy, biology, archaeology, physics.
Religious Camps: Catholic, Jewish, Muslim, Christian.
Computer Camps: web design, graphic design, video game design, 3D-modeling and animation.

WHAT TYPE OF CAMP?

After taking into consideration your work schedule, child's age and the experience you and your child are expecting to gain from the summer camp, consider the type of camp that makes the most sense for your child. Depending on the type of camp, you can choose between overnight camps, day camps, all boys or all girls' camps, or brother and sister camps. Also take into consideration the age groups represented and the percentage.

WHERE IS THIS CAMP?

If it's the first time your child is attending a summer camp look for something closer in order to lessen some of the anxiety he or she might be feeling. Consider the proximity to your home or work especially if your child will be attending a day camp. Keep in mind the camp environment, security, and medical facility and remember to choose the camp based on your child's interests rather then how close the camp is.

WHAT ARE THE FACILITIES LIKE?

Most camps will schedule a tour for parents to visit the facility and meet the directors or you can talk to the camp administration on the phone about your concerns if visiting the camp is not an option. Talk to them about your child's needs and interests and how you can ensure that your child will have a successful summer camp experience. Enquire about the sleeping arrangements and what toilet and shower facilities exist. It is also important to find out what medical facilities are available and where is the nearest hospital.

HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?

As a rule of thumb, non-profit camps are less expensive then the private camps. Most of these kids' camps are tax deductible under the Income Tax Act, falling under the general rubric of the "childcare expense" deduction. Talk to your accountant to see if you qualify. Beside the actual price of the camp you will also have to take into consideration the extra expenses such as the spending money needed by your child, transportation or camp uniform. Be sure to check the cancellation and refund policy!

HOW MANY CHILDREN WILL ATTEND THE CAMP?

The number of campers will vary depending on the size of the facility. Large camps are often organized into smaller segment groups in order for campers to receive the same attention as they would in a smaller camp.

WHAT ABOUT THE STAFF?

It's important to enquire about the staff before you and your child commit to a certain camp. Ask questions regarding the camper-to-counsellor ratio, the experience of the staff and directors, background, and what kind of staff training is provided. Don't forget to ask who prepares the food and what medical staff is on campus. Although most kids' summer camps are required to undergo detailed staff checks for anyone working with children, you have the right to ask for references of families who have previously enrolled their children in the camp.

Last but not least, visit the Canadian Camping Association's website for a list of accredited camps and information regarding provincial standards. Make sure your family is comfortable with the program you have chosen and remember that at the end of the day it's important for your child to have fun, fun, and some more fun.

Michigan Wolverines - The Big Coaches Leading Michigan to Their Big 10 Conference Titles

The Big 10 is one of the conferences in the National College Athletics Association. It was established in order volleyball drills regulate and organize athletics in college division. They wanted to ensure that anyone who will play for their school is not just anyone; rather they should be a student of the school they represent with good academic performance. Seven universities started as the early members of this conference and it was not until the 1899 when Indiana and Iowa joined. However when Chicago left, they became the Big Nine. In addition, they adopted the name Intercollegiate Conference of Faculty Representatives. Today there are 11 universities joining this conference and the Big 10 Conference became an official name 1987 with a whole new system incorporating values and academic excellence in choosing athletes to play for the member schools.

Plyometric Training For Basketball - Proven Benefits You Need to Know

Plyometric training has proven its benefits in various sports. In fact, volleyball drills is a good way to maintain and enhance muscle strength, as well as to prevent unnecessary injuries. That is why a lot of expert trainers and coaches incorporate these exercises into their regular training regimen.

The basic principle of any sport program is specificity, which means that the exercises should closely match the movements of a particular sport. For instance, a volleyball player who wants to increase the height of his vertical jump should therefore perform box jumping or drop jumping since they mimic the actual movements of the sport. On the other hand, a javelin thrower who intends to improve the explosiveness of each launch needs to concentrate more on upper body plyometric exercises.

Plyometric training for basketball is all about explosive power. The sport is perhaps the ruling team game when it comes to the frequency of occasions needing explosive power. Other sports, however, may also necessitate explosive power but only for a short duration and not as frequently as basketball.

Plyometrics is a set of explosive drills that are mainly useful for boosting the height of every vertical jump. In basketball, this type of training will not only enable you to touch the rim but also improve your overall performance. Aside from increasing power, it will also enhance your coordination, balance, and reflexes.

This type of exercises in basketball work by changing stored energy and then using it up into movements as swiftly as possible. An important aspect of this type of training is the body's ability to learn to perform this behavior and acquire muscle memory. Improvement in muscle mass is not the most vital criteria in plyometrics. In other words, it is not volleyball drills about developing bigger muscles. It is more about releasing a large amount of force in a short period of time.

In the sport of basketball, the best drill involves various kinds of jumps. So if you want to train for basketball, focus on jumps. You may also try other drills but jumps are the most ideal exercises if you want to dunk or even touch the rim.

Squat jumps are good drills for basketball. Begin in the usual squat position, making sure that the thighs are parallel to the ground. Starting in this position, blast upwards into a high jump. As you land on the ground, go back to your initial position. Pause for a second before repeating the jump. Find out more tips about plyometrics training at http://plyometrics.referenceguidetips.com

How To Ask Someone Out On A First Date

Asking someone out that you have had your eye on can be nerve racking. What do you say? How do you say it? Dating service provides tips for asking someone out on a date.

What to Say

First, relax. Try not to view it as a date, look at asking her out as an invitation instead. Better still take the pressure off by not using the D word altogether. Don't ask for a date and don't call it a date. It starts to get significant when that word appears, so focus on the activity and position it in the same informal way you would ask a friend.

Keep the invitation light and casual. A lunch date is low pressure it has a beginning and an end, and both occur within an hour volleyball drills so. It's easy to say goodbye, there's no goodnight kiss, no obligation, and so the pressure is off.

Here's What Not to Say

Don't ask, You want to go out sometime? It's too open-ended and can lead to an awkward follow-up conversation.

Don't ask, What are you doing Friday night? It's too vague and it might leave your potential date

wondering if you're just curious about what he or she is doing on Friday night, or if you want to do something together.

Don't use a sexually suggestive line like, I'd love to have breakfast with you. Should I call you or nudge you? It might be funny if you read it in a book, but in the real world, it's liable to get you a speedy rejection.

These types of lines don't show that you're genuinely interested in a person they make you seem a little too slick.

What Works Best?

Before you ask, consider the following:

Be a friend first, not a potential date. If you really want to get to know someone better, the key is to relax and allow your own personality to shine through. There really is no need to be a smart-ass, or make them laugh out loud. You just need to be good company, because the more comfortable you both feel, the easier it is to recognize any chemistry between you. In short, forget the pickup lines. Show an interest in them, and they will only be flattered.

Create an opportunity for your date. Once you know more about what that person likes to do, you can offer something. After all, a date is an invitation. If they love art, ask them to the latest big museum exhibition; if they like sports, offer tickets to a basketball game. If they enjoy wine, ask them to a wine tasting.

Drop a hint. Ask about a subject and drop a hint. Say something like, What do you like to do on the weekends? As she responds, look for something you like to do too. If she says she loves to hike, respond with, We should go hiking together sometime, then move on in the conversation and ask about her favorite hiking spots. You've just dropped a big hint, so let it sink in for a while. Listen carefully to her response and gauge her enthusiasm. If she stays upbeat and positive, ask her if she would like to go hiking with you next weekend.

Keep it casual. If you feel uncomfortable saying, Would you like to go to dinner Friday night? try something like this:

I was thinking about going for a ride along the boardwalk on Sunday. It's going to be a beautiful day. Would you like to go with me? Pose the question as if you're already going and they can join you, if interested. This will make you feel less desperate and take the pressure off them if they say no.

Be specific when asking for the date. I'd like to take you for coffee this Thursday is more powerful than asking if she'd like to go out sometime. Of course, you could always invite the person on a group date, since that really takes the pressure off.

Invite them bowling, to play volleyball, or to join a bunch of friends for a drink or to a party. As soon as you say, A bunch of us are going to it takes the pressure off. Us is the operative word here.

Read the situation. If you've hung out for a while and all the signs suggest your potential date shares your feelings, then either a) you won't be able to keep your hands off each other, or b) you'll be able to suggest meeting up for an evening out knowing that's what they want too! If that vibe isn't happening, at the very least you'll have made a new friend.

So remember, when you are asking someone out, plan ahead and be specific . Know what you are going to say AND what you want to suggest doing on the date. Your prospective dates will be much more comfortable if they know exactly what you want to do. Just try to relax and enjoy yourself. Worst case scenario they'll say they can't go out. And that will bring you one step closer to someone who can. Someone who appreciates you and where the chemistry connection is reciprocated and the sparks really fly. Let's face it, getting to that special someone inevitably means dealing with a few duds along the way. It'll be worth it in the end.

The Most Important Equipment Needed For Playing Volleyball

Athletes need volleyball drills practice their volleyball skills when they're not on the court. One of the things they will need in order to play is a net. Depending on where you practice, they may just need a net, or they may need to entire set. Either way, they can't practice unless they have a net.

Someone will need to purchase a net or a net set. In order to do that, they have to make sure that the set is the same height as net used for a tournament. The net should also be one where it doesn't take all day to assemble. In addition to that, it should not be heavy and volleyball drills be something that can be carried around.

Depending on the quality of the volleyball equipment, the cost could be up to a few hundred dollars. There are different manufacturers for net systems. Court boundaries also have to be considered. If there are not any marked boundaries, a boundary set should be purchased.

Another piece of volleyball equipment that is needed is a volleyball. Volleyballs can be found in sporting goods stores. Some of them sell volleyballs that are name brand items. Please be sure that you get the correct size and material.

In order to play or even practice volleyball, a good, solid volleyball is needed. A name brand volleyball would definitely be in order, especially if this is for pro volleyball. The volleyball should be of the right size and the right material.

Get more information on what kind of ball it is. They can be squeezed to make sure they are good enough to use. They can be tossed around a few times to see how the ball feels when playing. Check the volleyball to make sure it's the type of ball that you need. It should also be labeled with the correct tournament size. Also check to see how much it weighs.

The stitching on the volleyball should be strong and have a durable bladder. When testing the volleyball equipment, see which kind works best, leather or synthetic. Volleyball players have to be careful, though. Some of the volleyballs used can cause forearm stings. The ball should get more air so that the players can use their fingertips to get a better grip and it has a little give.

It's important to have a volleyball that is durable and sturdy. It needs to last so that it can get a lot of play.

Coaching Drills for Volleyball

Drills are the volleyball drills and only way to improve your volleyball players skills and build muscle memory. Please feel free to incorporate any or all of the following coaching drills for volleyball at your next practice or pre-game warm up.

When implementing new coaching drills for volleyball at your next practice, make sure to fully explain each movement or step in the drill and allow your players to practice at half-speed before running the drill regularly. Not only does this aim to prevent injury, it also allows players the chance to feel their way through the drill so they know the exact way it should be affecting their muscles. Theres no point in running drills if theyre not being performed correctly!

I dub thee Queen of the Court

One of my favorite coaching drills for volleyball is volleyball drills weve named Queen of the Court. One of the best things about this drill is that it can be easily adapted to suit nearly any number of players. Begin by dividing your team into teams of 2, 3 or 4 whichever works best with the number of players that are playing.

The drill starts off like any other scrimmage game, with one team on either side of the court. Team one serves the ball, and if they get a point from their serve, they get to remain on the court and face a new team of challengers. Play continues in this manner, with the team that scores staying on until a point is scored against them. You can either play until one team reaches a designated number of points or for a certain number of minutes, and the team with the most points at the end is the winner.

The best thing about the Queen of the Court drill is its fast-paced intensity which forces players to focus and play as a team. Added incentives for the winning team (or losing teams) will help bolster the competitive spirit and bring out your players best hustle.

More fun than Digging in the Garden

The next of the coaching drills for volleyball that I like to use with my team allows them to work on their digging skills. Divide your team into partners and have them each stand 20 to 25 feet apart. One player is the hitter while the other is the digger. The hitter begins the drills by throwing or hitting fast moving balls at the digger, who is to dig for them as quickly and accurately as possible.

The main thing for the digger to work on is maintaining the correct body positioning, which is feet at least shoulder width apart and pointing straight ahead, hands in front with palms facing the ceiling. The diggers arms and shoulders should be as relaxed as possible with shoulders forward and hips back. Try to stay as low and balanced as possible by keeping the hands ahead of their head, head ahead of the shoulders, shoulders ahead of knees and knees ahead of feet. Make sure that diggers are sporting both knee and elbow pads to avoid painful scrapes or injury.

Temporary and Semi-Permanent Hair Color

Temporary hair color

When I was in high school, I played on my school's volleyball and basketball teams. During my sophomore year, one of my teammates got the brilliant idea to paint patterns into the underlayers of our hair - nothing so overt that we'd be caught (there were strict rules against using makeup and hairstyles to distract players), but something subtle enough that it would take a few seconds for our opponents to figure out what the heck was going on with our hair. A few unguarded seconds were all we needed - so we thought - to get a ball safely over a net or through a hoop. When we got tired of using our school's colors (red, white, and black), we'd try our opponents' colors (purple and gold, green and black, burgundy and silver) or adopt a holiday theme (orange and black for Halloween, green for Saint Patrick's Day).

The color we used for these experiments was temporary - shades that stayed in our hair only until the next shampoo. We preferred the foam (also called mousse and spray-on formula), but temporary color is also available as a rinse. volleyball drills course, not everyone wants to wear the fanciful shades my teammates and I favored; fortunately, temporary hair color comes in many natural hues. One more thing to keep in mind is that temporary color contains no ingredient to alter hair's structure and because of this, it cannot lighten hair. Instead, use temporary hair color to darken or slightly brighten strands.

If you have damaged, chemically straightened, or permed hair, temporary and semi-permanent colors are the volleyball drills choices.

Semi-permanent hair color

Semi-permanent color is terrific for hair-color newbies. It washes out in 6 to 12 shampoos, contains no potentially damaging peroxide or ammonia, and, once it's gone, leaves your hair the same color as it was before being colored. This means you can experiment with shades until you find one you want to use consistently. Because of its gentle nature, however, semipermanent color can't change things very dramatically. It has a slightly translucent quality that makes it better suited to enhancing rather than altering your natural color. What semipermanent hair color can do is take hair one or two levels darker, or maybe even a shade brighter. Gray hair, which is notoriously resistant to hair color, is rarely well camouflaged by semipermanent shades. Furthermore, these shades' lack of chemicals means they have no lightening power whatsoever.

If you're a brunette who dreams of being blonde, semi-permanent color is not for you.

Volleyball Training - See Dramatic Results With Sport Specific Training

Volleyball is a great sport. It is one of the sports that young athletes can enjoy and continue playing throughout their entire lives. Both young and old volleyball players can see great improvements in their game with sports specific exercises.

Volleyball is a very explosive sport that requires unique strengths. Each position puts a specific demand on the body. volleyball drills prepare your body for those demands you need to train it for those demands. That is the concept behind sports specific training. This type of training puts the body volleyball drills drills that mimic game situations and enhance volleyball specific needs for strength, as with the serve or kills, or flexibility and agility, as with digs and jumping skills for playing the net.

The problem with the coaching and training that goes on in many schools and colleges is the 'one size fits all' training method; lifting in the gym and running. These generic routines do nothing to help you on the volleyball court. Think about the bench press for instance, an exercise that many coaches have their volleyball players perform. A bench press is designed to build strength and size in the chest. That is all well and good but think about the game of volleyball and game situations that come up. Where would that move help? It would not.

Another reason that sport specific training is vital is that it trains the body as a whole, which is how it is used during a volleyball game. In other words there are no bicep curls or shoulder presses, instead the entire body is challenged in creative and effective ways to prepare it to handle the demands of the sport. There is also a great emphasis on core strength which is vitally important for stability and strength. The core is the bodies powerhouse and the source of it's balance and strength.

Lastly, a solid sports specific training routine will greatly reduce the chance of injury to the athlete. This is because of the state of preparedness that exists in the body after training specifically for the sport that is being played.

If your volleyball training routine does not incorporate Volleyball Training Techniques than it is not complete and you are not reaching your potential. The body is an amazing thing and when trained properly it is capable of amazing things. Anyone can do sports specific training and frankly, most people prefer it over repetitive gym workouts. It is also a time effective method of working out because the exercises are so incredibly effective.

Track and Field Workouts

Choose Track and Field

In order to let each athlete achieve their personal best, the coach must develop a series of volleyball drills and field workouts suited to their athlete's needs. Track and field isn't always the easiest sport to recruit team members, since it comes at the end of the athletic season when many are already burnt out from participation in football, volleyball, basketball, or soccer.

In addition, while the individualist nature of track is suited for those who prefer a more solitary-based approach to training, that can be a dissuading factor for those who love the thrill of team sports or lack the confidence in their performance as an athlete. Track and field is a very measurable sport, both in terms of times and distance, so always keep excellent records of everyone's progress on the team, and encourage athletes to note their own times so that they can improve them as their skill develops.

When developing track and field workouts, the coach must be organized around the preseason, competitive season, and championship season. Track and field workouts should increase in difficulty and volleyball drills as the championship season nears so that everyone is able to put their best foot forward at these ever-important times.

Getting Warm

The warm up and stretching session is an integral part of any track and field workout. Stretch all of the major muscle groups including the hamstring and lower back by grabbing the toes and attempting to straighten the legs, the groin in the butterfly position with the feet touching and attempting to flatten the knees to the ground, and calves by pushing against a wall with one leg extended out back and the other bent.

Next, all athletes should engage in a 10 to 15 minute warm-up where they jog lightly, focusing on getting the muscles warmed up and ready for that day's practice session. Afterwards, the coach can run some drills including ankle flips, low and high butt kicks, short skips, long skips, and quick steps.

What Condition are you in?

After the drills comes the technique work where the athletes split off into groups and focus on their individual events. The relay runners should work on their mechanics and steps when passing the baton. Hurdlers perform hurdling drills and work on their pacing during the race. Jumpers practice their jumping skills while throwers perform throwing drills to increase arm strength.

Once the drill work has been completed, the group redistributes themselves for the conditioning drills. Conditioning drills are typically performed in four different groups: sprinters, 400 m runners, 800 m runners, and distance runner who often begin their conditioning while everyone else is doing the technique work, due to the longer nature of their conditioning. Each conditioning group should have one assistant coach or student to record the times for everyone in the group.

Finally, it's time for the cool down period which involves light jogging and stretch to allow the muscles time to readjust following the heavy athletic conditioning. At this point, the coach can assign weight training sessions for the athletes in the events where this is most necessary, specifically the throwing and jumping events.

Girls Playing Club and High School Volleyball - Top 5 Places to Serve After a Team Timeout

Especially in girls volleyball, serving is the volleyball game's "equalizer" because from start to finish you and only you control every aspect and especially the outcome of the serve. It doesn't matter how tall, how wide or how short you are, if you develop volleyball drills tough serve that makes points consistently, I guarantee you will regularly see court time.

The reason I concentrate a lot on the serving fundamental as a volleyball skill is because of this reason...you are the only person who controls the effectiveness of YOUR serve and its the one fundamental you can do without the intervention of anyone else to score a direct point with ....that is very powerful and trust me even many elite players don't take advantage of this unique opportunity.

1). In the Court. This may sound funny or obvious but serving a tough ball in the court after a team has called a timeout is not easy. If a team has scored several points in a row and the opposing coach calls a timeout elite athletes always try to follow the Golden Rule "Keep your serve in" after a timeout has been called. Why? Because the opposing coach has called the timeout for several reasons ...one of which is to specifically distract YOU the server in hopes of getting you to MISS your serve which can instantly change the momentum of the game. You keep your team's point scoring momentum ...by keeping your serve...in the court.

2). Serve the Left Front Outside Hitter Deep Down the line to Position 5. If the Left Front Player who is in Position 4 is a swing hitter which means a player, usually the Left Outside hitter, that is in the front row and has two responsibilities- to receive the serve and to then swing outside to hit the ball as well. Serving the ball deep down the line forces the left side hitter deeper towards the back of the court which means they have to cover a lot of ground to get back into position to be able to make an approach in order to hit the ball.

Serving them deep down the line helps to take the Left Side hitter out of the offense because a) this forces them to back up and serve receive deep in the court -which makes them late to start their hitting approach. This tactic can completely eliminate them as a hitter/attacker in the offense so the setter is forced to have only one or two options - set to the middle blocker or behind her to the right side depending on how many hitters are front row.

In other words, "play chess" -if you see three hitters in the front row-with your serve- force one of them to pass the ball deep in the court- which leaves only two hitters that your blockers and defenders have to concentrate on. That puts your team at an advantage, right? Force the opposing team to do what YOU want them to do just by serving smarter.

3). Serve Short to the Front Row Hitter in Left Front or Middle Front Position. Many players serve short because it's an option or because it happens by accident but elite players serve short because they know that the short serve is an equalizer especially when tall players are in the front row.

Like airplanes Tall players usually need longer runways to make their approach-in order to hit volleyball drills and In the court. If the "runway" is cut short...then that "plane" has a hard time taking off. So you the server need to "cut" the runway way off.

Serve them short while they are in the front row and they won't have time to back up and take their usual long approach and if they DO Get the set...they usually don't have the time or the strength to hit as hard or as high as they would if they weren't passing so YOU have effectively helped YOUR team by serving the BIG girl (excuse me TALL girl...I hate when people call me BIG) in the front row...and YOU have intelligently taken her out of the offense. Attention short players...how tall do you have to be to learn to serve the Tall girl in the front row? Answer....it doesn't matter. You just have to serve 50 short balls to each front row position LF, MF and RF before practice and/or after EVERY practice so when the pressure is on...you are ready.

4) Serve Straight Down the Middle of the Court. The shortest distance between two points is a straight line. Instead of serving from either corner of the volleyball court-which when you serve cross court gives a passer more time to get in position because the ball is coming from farther away...try standing right in the middle of the baseline and serve straight down the middle to the opposite end line.

Usually in the backrow there are two people in serve receive (just like in beach volleyball). Aim for the head of the middle blocker in the front row and serve right towards the back line. Both the left back and right back receivers are forced to decide on or fight over the "divorce maker" ball that goes right down the middle between the two of them. If done right the ball will fall right between the two passers and you the server are a HERO not a ZERO!

5) Serve Short to the Right Front or Position 2 on the Volleyball Court. The same argument applies here about serving the BIG girl in the front row as an option- if she is in the position 2 spot but there's something else you need to look for. Look for the Setter coming from the Right Front/ position 2 spot. If you serve the front row player who is passing in position 2, when the Setter is in Right Front or coming from the Right Front position the setter has to

  • track the ball that was passed OVER her shoulder-
  • her left shoulder while moving towards the net-
  • then she has to set the ball quickly-Why? Because she has very little time to adjust to a ball that has been passed right from the position she JUST came from. (Or served right to the position she just came from however you want to look at the situation.).
  • No matter what, if the ball is served to the front row she has much less time to track the ball, stop, then set the ball especially if its an imperfect pass.
Additionally if the ball isnt passed perfectly then the setter has an even harder time of giving her hitters a good set, usually the ball is set off the net, the hitter makes an easier hit to dig and the defense has an easier time of digging the ball...ALL because of YOUR strategically placed serve. So the next time When you have serving practice - set goals for yourself and MAKE your serves count for points or practice making them put the opposing team in difficulty. Don't just go through the motions...remember ...the ball is in YOUR hands.

Girls Club and High School Volleyball Practice - Serve Receive Ain't For Sissies

Especially for girls volleyball players here are 5 volleyball tips elite athletes use when Serve Receiving. Now you can easily perform these volleyball skills to improve your technique during games and volleyball tournaments.

1. Read the Server's Body Position

When a server is ready to serve - they usually give you some indication where they are planning to volleyball drills Checking their lower body, their feet and especially their hip position you get some clues as to whether they want to serve cross court or down the line.

Also check out where their shoulders are facing and where there tossing arm is - this will give you additional clues. A lot of servers when they want to serve a short ball to the front row hitters on the opposite side - MANY times they step right up to the serving line as close as they can. This is a pretty good indication that a short serve is coming. So when you see that adjust accordingly by taking a step closer to the net that you cover any short serves that come in your area.

2. Stay Low

Once the referee's whistle blows DON"T STAND UP! Stay in volleyball drills hunched/slightly crouched" ready position in order to serve receive. Why?

a) Because if the server serves you deep or short its easier for you to move forwards and backwards - if you are in a slightly crouched position. b) By standing up, the ball will more than likely hit you in the chest. As the serve crosses the net Stay

Low - while preparing your body position and platform to serve receive.

3. Talk

Be ready to take responsibility for balls that are served to you or in your area - by calling "MINE" in a loud clear voice so your teammates know that you WANT that ball and only you will pass that ball. It allows your teammates to set up early for whatever they need to do next.

Communicate what serve you think is coming. If I see someone "toeing" the line- by this I mean stepping up really close to the server's line then I will tell my beach partner OR my indoor teammates in a loud voice "Watch out for the short serve!" This mentally helps you AND your teammates to be ready to move quickly if the short serve comes. This way everybody on the volleyball court KNOWS and is aware of the short ball possibly coming.

You've also made the server aware of the fact that you know what they are about to do so it puts more pressure on them to concentrate.

4. Focus on the Volleyball

Once you've checked out the server's body position and where they look like they are serving and called it out to your teammates...once the whistle blows Focus on the BALL while its in the server's tossing hand.

Once the server tosses the ball they really can't change much of anything else so I visibly TRACK that ball from their hands when they contact the ball across the net and I track it right into my arms. I follow by watching the ball with my eyes right into my serve receive platform. Really Focusing on the ball keeps me from being surprised and moving at the last minute once that ball crosses the net to my side of the court. I am already visibly and mentally following that ball out of the server's hands so when it gets to the volleyball net and then crosses to my side its easy for me to move my feet and get to position to make a great pass.

5. Early Positioning -Get Stopped!

Don't do two things at once. Don't be passing and running at the same time! Your passes usually won't go to your setter BUT instead will go immediately over the net. Get to the spot First on the court where you see the ball is going to cross the net and land in your area even if this means that you may only need a side step or two steps or may even have to run to get to a further spot away from you Get THERE first then GET STOPPED -get your Platform out- then make the pass. Make sure you do this in 2 separate movements.

So remember Get to Your Spot Quickly - Beat the ball there - Get Stopped - Make the Pass!

Jump Training For Beach Volleyball

Sand Volleyball is all about jumping. There's not a position that isn't allowed to jump like in indoor volleyball. If you play you have to be able to jump no matter how tall you are. But how do you learn how to jump higher? Very easy, you jump. Anything you want to get better at requires you to practice. But there are more efficient ways to train for jumping than others.

In Sand volleyball you need an explosive maximum height jump, not a bunch volleyball drills repetitive sub-maximal jumps. For this reason, the way you should train for jumping in beach volleyball is different than jump training for other sports. When doing plyometrics (jumping exercises) you shouldn't be doing high reps but rather volleyball drills reps and giving each rep all your strength. Also, you should let yourself get well rested in between sets.

Most of your jump training should be in the sand because that is how you will be jumping in the game. The approach is much different than on a hard court. Also, because plyometrics are of a very high intensity, training in the sand will be much softer on your joints which will prevent injuries.

Here are a few things to consider when jump training for beach volleyball.

Make sure your last 2 steps before take off are very hard against the ground. Almost like an over exaggerated stomp on the sand. This will reduce how much you sink when you try to jump.

Make sure you use your arms. Keep them straight and let them go back as far as they can before the swing forward and up propelling you into the air.
